    Tour By Day

Day 1: 8th of June, Monday

We recommend you arrive by 2pm at our hotel in Locarno. Included in the package we offer the pickup at the  airport of Milan Malpensa (MXP).

After dropping of your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the BBT coaching staff and fellow riders for a preview of the week ahead and a dinner.

Day 2: 9th of June, Tuesday

Day one starts as a shakedown in the pool with your coaches.  Warm up and morning laps are executed under the watchful eye of the coaches, adjusting and perfecting technique to enhance efficiency in the water. We’ll sort out paces, prescribe drills, do a bit of dry land exercises and move to a main set in an educational and learning environment only BBT can provide. After our morning laps, we’ll take a quick break for a snack before getting on the bikes.

We’ll roll easy through our beautiful Maggiore Lake. There you’ll receive instruction on how to perform the test and will launch to threshold and beyond to establish ranges we’ll use for the rest of camp.  When the testing is complete we’ll continue our ride back to the Hotel for lunch. After lunch you’ll sit down with your coaches and review the mornings performance.  We’ll recall the data from your Field Test and prep ranges for the week ahead. Performing in the correct power ranges is a critical art to master in triathlons.  The coaches will help you dial in ranges to leave you running successfully off the bike. For our afternoon session, we head to the track for some stretching and education on run gait before doing a warm up run and out to the roads for a session.

Day 3: 10th of June, Wednesday

This morning you’re put through the paces by the coaches for a real track workout.  Track workouts increase speed and we’ll adjust running form and stride thoughts as we go. In the afternoon we’ll have a bike session in the Valle Maggia, a very nice place. The trail between Cerentino and Bosco Gurin offers a unique experience with its lively river, sparse habitations and expansive woodland.

Day 4: 11th of June, Thursday

In the morning we will talk about Nutrition.  How to properly fuel the triathlete for short intense efforts and long duration events.Today we put it all together with one big long effort. We’ll start in the pool for a steady effort, transition to the bike then to the run.  Coaches and support along the way to help you move from discipline to discipline.

Day 5: 12th of June, Friday

Swim: Endurance today.  We’ll work on pacing off the clock and managing rest between efforts for maximum efficiency.

After swim, it’s a snack and into bike gear.

We’ll head out on local roads and execute bike intervals.  Intervals are a keystone to gaining speed and strength, so we need to learn how to do them properly from the get go.

Endurance run through the Ticino Marathon route.  We’ll incorporate some climbs and mid run interval work.

Day 6: 13h of June, Saturday

We will continue our training session and nutrition teachings.

Day 7: 14th of June, Sunday

    It’s the last day

Race simulation!  We’ll have a course set for you and send you off to practice the things you learned along your way this week. Think of this as a Race Simulation type of effort.
